Flight training is a course of study used while learning to pilot an airplane. The overall objective of the primary and secondary flight training is the acquisition and honing of basic flying skills.

Flight training consists of a combination of flight lessons provided on airplanes or simulators and elementary schools, where theories are studied in preparation for written exams.

Although there are different types of aircraft, many of their piloting principles have a common technique, especially planes that are heavier than air types.

In addition to providing flight instructors, flight schools generally hire planes to students.

The oldest remaining flight training school is the Royal Air Force (RAF's) Flying School, established in May 1912 in Upavon, England. The world's oldest active civil aviation aviation school based in Germany in Wasserkuppe. It was founded as "Mertens Fliegerschule". His name now is "Fliegerschule Wasserkuppe".
