Lake Sparrow is a lake in the Great Lakes Basin in Central Ontario, Canada. It is located northwest of Orillia city and south of Gravenhurst city, Ontario and about 150 kilometers and a 1.5 hour drive northwards to the Greater Toronto Area. Sparrow Lake is the southernmost lake in the popular Muskoka tourist area.
The lake was named after William Sparrow, an Englishman, who lured and hunted the area in the 19th century. He disappeared one summer, causing the story that he might have been murdered.
It's also a little known as the northern setting for the Showcase show of Paradise Falls . Various settings and lodging around the lake are used for filming. It is also home to Sparrow Lake Camp (https://sparrowlakecamp.com/) (founded in 1912), the oldest children's leisure camp operated by United Church of Canada.
There are many resorts and inns on the lake. There are also two golf courses, Lake St. George Golf Club and Evergreen Golf Center within 3 km.

Geography Edit
These shallow and fresh waters are part of the Trent-Severn Waterway, a series of rivers, lakes and canals flowing southwest from Severn Sound on the eastern shore of Lake Huron Georgia, up into the River Severn, through Lake Couchiching, Lake Simcoe and Kawartha Lakes and down the Trent River in south-central Ontario to the north shore of Lake Ontario.
This lake has a length of about 7 kilometers and width between 1 and 2 kilometers, with a maximum depth of about 12 meters and an average depth of about 4 meters. The main entrance and outflow is the Severn River, which in turn runs through Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching and the Black River basin. Other incoming currents are the Kahshe River (Kahshe Lake/Garternake) and the Beaver Creek river basin.
Located on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield, the lake is visible with granite islands and is surrounded by well-cultivated rocky coastlines. The development of the shoreline consists primarily of a recreational cottage property access road with several resorts and a full-service marina accessible by road and water.
