Fairs are the annual competitive and recreational meetings of the population of the US state, usually held in late summer or early fall. This is a larger version of a county fair, often just including exhibitors or competitors who win in their category at local fair.
State festivals began in the nineteenth century for the purpose of promoting state farming, through competitive livestock exhibitions and agricultural product displays. As the US evolved from an agrarian-dominated society to industrial societies in the 20th century, and more than 21st century service economies, modern state fairs have expanded to include amusement rides and carnival games, display of industrial products, auto racing, and entertainment. such as music concerts. Big festivals can receive more than one million visitors over a week or two. The first US state fair was New York, held in 1841 in Syracuse, and has been held annually until this year. The second state fair is in Detroit, Michigan, which runs from 1849 to 2009.
Similar events with the fair are also held annually in every state capital in Australia, known as the royal event. Australian royal performances are organized by agricultural countries and horticultural communities, and are further described in agricultural event articles.
