Darwin Falls is a waterfall located on the western edge of Death Valley National Park near the settlement of Panamint Springs, California. Although there is a place similar to the Darwin Falls Wilderness adjacent to the waterfall, the waterfall itself is located in and is managed by Death Valley National Park and National Park Service. There are some falls, but they are mainly divided into upper and lower parts with small caves in between. At a combined 80 feet (24 m), it is the highest waterfall in the park. The canyon is surrounded by dramatic plutonic stones.
Darwin Creek is one of four immortal rivers in Death Valley National Park three million acres (12,000 km²). Darwin Falls and Creek is fed by Darwin Wash, which in turn is fed by the Darwin Bench volcano plains between the Inu Mountains and the Argus Mountains. The narrow little valley where tributaries and waterfalls are located displays a rare collection of greenery in the vast desert and is home to native fauna such as quail. The waterfall itself supports several small gray lines.
Darwin Falls, Darwin Falls Wilderness, the nearest town of Darwin, California, and all the other regions named "Darwin" in the vicinity are named after Dr. Darwin French (1822-1902), a local rancher, miner, and explorer.

Access
Darwin Falls is accessible to the public. This waterfall is located in a narrow little valley near the Panamint Valley. Access to the trail to Darwin Falls is a dirt road located on the south side of State Route 190, about Ã,¼ mile (400 m) west of Panamint Springs. A low, 20 foot (10 m) low drop is achieved by a short 1 mile (1.6 km) Darwin Canyon short climb and becomes somewhat difficult towards the end. While trailheads are usually accessible with 2WD vehicles, there is the option to drive further with 4WD vehicles to further afield along the road around the canyon. The upper waterfall can be seen with a moderate climb.
