The Marriott World Trade Center is a 22-storey steel-floor hotel building with 825 rooms. Opened in July 1981 as Vista International Hotel and is located at 3rd World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York City, with the World Trade Center complex having its own zip code 10048. The hotel is no longer operating and is being repaired as a result from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, following the collapse of the Twin Towers. The hotel will not be replaced as part of the new World Trade Center complex, but prefer to share its name with the new office tower.
Vista International was the first hotel to open in Lower Manhattan since 1836. The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings & amp; Merrill and was originally owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and KUO Hotels of Korea, with Hilton International acting as a management agent. It was sold in 1995 to Host Marriott Corporation.
The hotel is connected to the north and south towers, and many pass through the hotel to reach them. The hotel has several places including The American Harvest Restaurant, The Greenhouse Cafà ©, High Ships Bar & Grill, a store called Times Square Gifts, Russian House Restaurant, and Grayline New York Ticket Ticket Counter. This place also has a fitness center which is the largest hotel in New York at the time, and a hair salon named Olga's. The hotel also has a 26,000 square foot (2,400m 2 ) meeting room on the 3rd floor, along with the New Amsterdam Ballroom on the main floor. It is considered a four-diamond hotel by AAA.

On Friday, February 26, 1993, the hotel was seriously damaged by the World Trade Center bombing. The terrorist affiliated with al-Qaeda took a Ryder truck containing 1,500 kilos (682 kilograms) of explosives and parked it in the parking garage of the North Tower under the hotel ballroom. At 12:14 pm (EDT), the explosion destroys or seriously damages the lower and sub levels of the World Trade Center complex. After extensive repairs, the hotel reopened in November 1994.

The September 11, 2001 attacks
On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, the hotel was at full capacity, and had more than 1,000 registered guests. In addition, the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) holds an annual conference at the hotel.
When American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into North Tower (1 WTC) at 8:46 AM EDT, its landing gear fell on the roof of the hotel. Firefighters use the lobby as a staging place, and also at the hotel to evacuate guests who may still be inside. Firefighters also reported the bodies of humans or all corpses on the roofs of people who jumped or accidentally fell from burning towers. The collapse of the South Tower (2 WTC) at 09:59 EDT split the building into two (such damage can be briefly seen in the documentary film 9/11 ), and the collapse of the North Tower at 10:28 pm EDT destroys the rest of the hotel apart from the small section (as seen on the picture) furthest from the North Tower. Fourteen people who had tried to evacuate a partially destroyed hotel after the first collapse survived the second collapse in this small section. Part of the hotel that survived the collapse of the Twin Towers has been improved after the 1993 bombing.
As a result of the collapse of the Twin Towers, the hotel was ruined beyond repair. Only the southern part of three floors of the building is still standing, all of which are finally removed. In the remnants of the lobby, the picture frames with pictures inside are still hanging on the wall. About 40 people were killed at the hotel, including two hotel employees and many firefighters who used the hotel as a staging venue.
In January 2002, the remains of the hotel were completely demolished. September 11 National Memorial & amp; The museum is now where the hotel once stood.
The building and its survivors are featured in a special television documentary Hotel Ground Zero , which airs on September 11, 2009 on the History Channel.
