The Mazda Demio is a supermini manufactured and marketed globally by Mazda since 1996, currently in its fourth generation. Demio is marketed prominently as Mazda2 and under previous nameplates including Mazda 121, Mazda Metro and Ford Festiva Mini Wagon .
Demio's third generation won the 2008 World Car of the Year, while the fourth generation was awarded the "Japanese Cars of 2014" 2014-2015.
In Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, the Demio DJ model is sold by Toyota with a slight change of style as iteration of the Toyota Yaris sedan . Second generation (DY; 2002-2007)

The third generation (DE; 2007-2014)
Initial release
The third-generation Demio is built on the new DE platform, which Ford also used for Ford Fiesta 2008. It uses lightweight materials and reduces the overall dimensions of the car.
